Spot the Fake: Is That Picture Real?

Image generators have become scarily good, so the old trick of counting fingers doesn't always work anymore. Try this instead:

• Check the source. Who posted it first? A real news outlet, or a random account?
• Reverse image search it. See where else it appears and when.
• Look at the details. Text on signs, jewellery, reflections and backgrounds often give it away.
• Look for labels. Many platforms now tag AI-generated content.
• Pause before sharing. If it makes you really angry or excited, double-check it.
